Honduras

 Honduras is a dynamic country, full of adventure and breathtaking beauty.
Honduras offers fascinating ancient ruins, clear turquoise waters and perfect long stretched white sand beaches, diving in the world’s second largest coral reef, jungles, spectacular mountains, challenging rivers, and the warmth of Honduran hospitality is special. Add all the above to the fact that traveling in Honduras is easy, enjoyable and inexpensive and you might fall in love in this country.

The widespread thought about Honduras is that it's a country just for divers.
It is true that Honduras is a paradise for divers (cheapest and one of the most beautiful destinations for diving) but even if you don't dive, there is a huge variety of other things to do -
don’t skip Honduras!!!

Capital City - Tegucigalpa.

BordersGuatamala from the north (El Florido or Coronitos).
               Nicaragua from the south (Las Manos, El Espino or Guasaule).
               El Salvador from the west (El Poy or El Amatio)

Language – Spanish and other Indigenous dialects.

Currency – Honduran Lempiras.

Weather – Honduras offers tropical climate all year round, but since the topography of Honduras is different from area to area, there is a diversity of climates. The north is hot and humid, the south is hot and dry and in the centre, there are some of the coolest areas in the country, due to their altitude above sea level.
In general: The dry season is between October and May. Rainy season is between May and October. Know that all over the Caribbean coastline in September and October there is danger of Hurricanes and storms. Usually it is not a problem and a lot of people travel in September & October, but it's recommended to check for storms from time to time on the media.

Health – It is recommended to have vaccinations of: hepatitis A+B, typhoid fever.
Consider taking mosquito repellent with you.

Money & Costs: The Bay Islands are a bit more expensive than other parts of the country.

Hostel – 5-7$ per night.

Meal – 2-3$ in small local restaurant with typical food.

PADI open water course - in Utila around 230$.

Transportation (air, land or sea) in Honduras is usually inexpensive.
