Trekking Checklist - Clothing

Pants: The best way to go is to take 2-3 pairs of hiking pants. If it's hot you can remove the lower part. If your wet, they dry up quite quickly. Save a lot of room and very convenient.

T-Shirts: This is a much more personal issue, however it's imperative that you don't go overboard. Keep in mind you're going to travel, not to a fashion show. Everything you have on your back weighs, including t-shirts. 5-10 shirts is a nice compromise between not doing laundry every two days, and wanting to have some room in you backpack for other items.

Performance Shirt: Keeps your body dry by scattering perspiration. A "must have" item when going trekking.

Fleece Jacket: Very important when going on cold treks. Takes up a lot of space so just one good jacket is quite enough.

Raincoat: Your fleece may save you from the cold winds, however rain is a job for a raincoat. most of you will find yourself meeting rain throughout your travels so don't forget your raincoat, unless of course you like hospital food...

Long Underwear: In cold climate, they can be quite useful. It's usually not advised to trek with long underwear to avoid too much sweating.

Accessories: Scarf, Mittens, Wool hat

Nice Cloths: It's always fun to dress up for a party, and sometimes it's also mandatory. So a nice pair of pants and a couple of party shirts is something you'll probably use, but keep in mind you can always pick something out along the way and save some room while packing the really important stuff.

Underwear & Socks: Many people have different takes on how often they need to change their underwear and socks. we recommend doing it at least once a day. In anyway, take as many as you think will last you for 7-10 days. keep in mind you can't do your laundry whenever you feel like it and sometimes you will have to get by for several days without washing your cloths.
